Installing and registering PhotoFrame
The following file is installed into your Adobe Photoshop Plug-ins folder:
PhotoFrame™
The following items are installed to the "Extensis PhotoFrame™ 1.0" folder on your root directory:
A demo version Extensis Portfolio 3.0.2 is also installed on your root directory, in the "Extensis Portfolio 3.0" folder. You can choose to not install Portfolio when you are asked during the installation process. However, if you don't already have Portfolio installed, or if you have an earlier version than 3.0.2, you will not be able to use the Frame Catalogs found on the PhotoFrame Volume CDs.
For more information about Portfolio, refer the Portfolio Read Me.
Launch Adobe Photoshop. Upon opening PhotoFrame, you will be requested to serialize and register the software. Please enter the serial number located on the back of the manual. If you do not have a serial number, you can choose to run PhotoFrame in demo mode; demo mode allows full functionality for 30 days.
Please register using one of the built-in electronic registration methods. If you do not have an email connection, a modem, fax/modem, or printer, you may fill out the registration card in the back of the manual.
Microtek Scanners
Microtek scanners may interfere with the built-in electronic registration process. If you are using a Microtek scanner, please turn it off before attempting to register PhotoFrame. You may turn the scanner back on once the registration process is complete.
A Note About the Frame Volumes
PhotoFrame currently has two volumes - Volume 1 contains fine art, painted edge effects; Volume 2 contains digital edge effects. These frame files are located on their respective volume CDs (not the Extensis Family CD). Also included on the volume CDs is a Portfolio catalog of the frame files.
PhotoFrame Technical Notes
• Due to its advanced capabilities, PhotoFrame currently works in Photoshop 3.0.4 & higher only. It does not work in any other application which supports Photoshop plug-ins.
• Color JPEGs show up as grayscale when loaded into PhotoFrame. PhotoFrame does not support color JPEGs at this time.
• PhotoFrame .FRM frame files cannot be viewed in Portfolio unless you have Portfolio version 3.0.2 or later.
Manual Addendum
Page 11: The manual states in several places that the Portfolio Frame Catalog, "Frame_Browser.fdb" is located on the Extensis CD. Since the printing of the manual this has changed: now the Frame Catalog is located on the Volume 1 and Volume 2 Frame content CDs.
